 BASIN PIECEMAKERS QUILT GUILD BUSINESS MEETINGMinutes of January 22, 2008 

Meeting was called to order by Lynda W.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.

Treasurer Penny O reports the current checking amount of $933.13, and savings of, $1595.77.

Day meeting report- Last day meeting was at Clara’s with 6 people attending.

Night meeting report-The Dear Jane group was out in full force.  Show and tell and a good visit.

Committee reports:

Programs: Cindy W. will provide a mitering corners demo.  Debbie S. will be our February demo.  Naomi from Hummerdog, will be here in April.

Monthly block lotto: Eddy and Mary: We will not draw tonight, but hold for next meeting.

Raffle quilt for 2008: Janet will be passing out tickets, for the club members to sell.  We are open to suggestions, for displaying the quilt/selling tickets.

Hospitality: Dona S is having some health concerns.

2008 challenge quilt: Roylene/ Dona are in charge-please contact them for further info.  (Visit the blog site.)  The challenge is due in May.

Correspondence:  We were contacted by WRBQ, a group that would like us to advertise with them, for our next quilt show.

 Old business:

            2009 Quilt show:  No one has shown interest yet in chairing the event.

Sister’s Quilt Show-Oregon: Emmalou has information, please see the blog..

            UFO report:  People are working on their unfinished items, keep it up.

By Laws Committee report:  The group has been unable to meet as of yet.

Piecemaker’s Library:  Has been moved to Penny O’s.  Please contact Penny, to check out books.

New business: 

Dues;  The Dues are due!

Quilt retreat:  April 8-13.  The sign up sheet is going around this evening.  2009 retreat dates are:  April 14-19, October 6-11.

Kim Diehl:  Eddy has contacted author Kim Diehl. She is willing to come to our guild and teach.  Mark your calendars for July 19th.

Telephone calling tree:  Lynda would like to have a calling tree, for last minute meeting info/updates.  We need 5 members who are willing to call our guild members.  Lynda will bring the sign up sheet to the next meeting.

 

Program: Cindy provided a great demo and hand out for mitered corners, “Thank you!”

Brown bag, Post cards and Crazy Ladies all passed their bags.UFO group, challenge ends April 22nd.  You need to select at least 7 quilt related items of your own to finish.  Contact Virginia C, to let her know how you are progressing. 

Dear Jane group meets the 2nd Thursday of the month, make four blocks per month.
