May 27, 2008 Meeting Minutes

June 22, 2008

Meeting was called to order by Lynda W.

Guest V Dunn was present.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved with the exception * Shawlene did not lead the April meeting, Mary K did. * The August picnic is August 26^th, 2008.

Treasurer Penny O reports the current checking amount of $1557.21, and savings of, $1597.10. Proceeds from the garage sale held at Penny’s were $378.53 from items sold and 27.00 from raffle tickets, for a total of 405.53.

Day meeting report- Was at Dona’s. The gals were treated to blackberry pie. Please begin looking at the blog for the next day meeting sites.

Night meeting report-The group held the drawing to see who would win the Dear Jane challenge-it was Virginia.

Committee reports:

Programs: Meg Hawkey, who we had been trying to book, is unavailable until the year 2010. Gail Earl in July.

Monthly block lotto: Eddy and Mary: Continue on with the current theme, red, white and blue 12 ½ inch blocks.

Raffle quilt for 2008: Janet has more tickets for those who need them. Please turn money from sales into Janet. The drawing is July 22. We currently have $409.

Hospitality: Cheryl had a loss in her family, Emmalou was in the hospital.

2008 challenge quilt: Winners were….Melanie S-most original, Beth best use of color and Roylene for the best of show.

2009 Quilt show: No news.

Nominating Committee report: All current officers have said they would remain for another year of service.

Kim Diehl class- Members who have paid for the class will receive their class outline/supply list and instructions from Eddy.

Odessa Quilt show- Many of our guild members were recognized at the show. Great job!

New business:

Mentor Day: To be held July 12, at Immanual Lutheran Church. Time from 9 to 2 or 3. Bring a project, supplies and a youngin’ to work with. Bring a dessert fruit or salad to share.

Annual Picnic: Will be at Betty L’s. Tuesday August 26at 6:00pm.

Deborah Gregory will be at the MAC June 13 and 14.

Block lotto: No drawing tonight.

Name tag drawing: Roylene

UFO group: Would need a new leader if people want it to continue. Call Lynda if you are interested.

Patchwork Place trip: Would cost $40, the sign up sheet is being passed around.

Challenge 2009: Cheryl and Clara have some thoughts towards the 2009 challenge, they will
