fiber art show

April 26, 2009

On the way home from retreat Wilma and I stopped at a Fiber Art show. It was small but had some wonderful pieces.fabricart2

The piece below was my favorite. It was large, like 5′ x 3′ maybe.

fabric-artThis piece had copper on it, or, it looked like copper anyhow.fabricart4And this one is for Nancy W and Penny. The monkeys are funny and if you look closely the blue ‘wall’ is full of weiner dogs. There were many more wonderful quilts and an amazing bead artist. I don’t how to describe it other than to say bead sculptures. They were 3-D and incredibly beautiful. She wouldn’t let me take a picture since she has yet to be published. fabricart5This last one was also a favorite, won the big ribbon after all! The photo doesn’t do it justice. The colors, applique and quilting were wonderful. See you all Tuesday night!fabricart3

A Kaffe quilt was won by Nancy. Who loves him more? I don’t know.

We had a special skit…there was something to do with a blond cheerleader, someone was in pain and I’m not clear on the rest. It’s difficult to hear when you’re laughing. skitweightskarenpenny

The weather was beautiful.weather

And finally, a new, uh, adornment for Nancy.
