Select a photograph and crop, etc. to get the features you like-particularly the face and shoulders if using a photo of a person. May be black and white or color, your choice.
Print on Printed Treasurers or other photo fabric using the wallet feature in your printer software. Make a test print on plain paper to be sure it is what you like before printing on the photo paper.
Select a background fabric. Anything goes.
Mark the background into a grid with 12 4-inch segments taking into consideration spacing between the “blocks”. May be marked by basting, marking pen, etc.
Unless you have a specific color scheme or criteria you would like followed, these little 4″ blocks are very whimsical and simplistic if not down right primitive. As the pass proceeds, applique your block onto the background using the photo provided in the person’s bag. Embellish, design, and create.
In your bag put fabric photos, background with grid marked, journal, label and any special instructions you may have. Try to keep the bags smallish so they are easier to mail.
The 1st pass will be at the October meeting. Have your first block on your background.
