CORRESPONDENCE: We received a letter from Kathy S. on her husband Jim treatment. They are thankful for all the cards, thoughts and prayers. Nancy T. reported that Sandy T.’s husband is doing dialysis. Cindi R. thanked us for the friendship quilt the guild made her.
Treasurer’s Report: Checking account $2721.29 Savings1105.07COMMITTEE REPORTS: HOSPITALITY: It was reported that LaFaun’s hip is doing better. Edna C. reported that Sandi T’s husband is having cancer treatment. Cards have been sent. BROWN BAG and LITTLE BROWN BAG: Keep passing. ARTSY QUILTS: Everyone should have the final block and are asked to keep the block. There will be a luncheon where they will be returned to the owner and shown to all BLOCK EXCHANGE: Dona S. showed the block for this month. QOV: Gloria M. made a request for 12 1/2 inch blocks and orphan blocks. We will set the blocks on Make a Difference Day, October 27. We were also told that if we send QOV quilts on our own, that we not put our last name on the quilt label. This is a request from the veterans association. BLOCK CONTEST: There will be a block contest at the fair this year and the blocks will go to QOV. Ribbons will be given for the best block in various categories. OLD BUSINESS: RETREAT: Sign-up for retreat starts tonight. A $50 deposit is required, balance due in Sept. Retreat date is October 9-14. See Barbara S. to sign up. DYE CLASS: Many showed their finished dyed fabrics. Very nice results! Another class is going to be arranged after talking to Judy R. NEW BUSINESS: NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Nancy L. called for officer nominations from the floor. It was moved and seconded that the current officers serve another year. Motion passed. FAIR COMMITTEE: Roylene S. asked for volunteers. She explained what needs to be done. A sign up sheet was passed. CURVED PIECING CLASS: Cindy W. and Nancy L. are teaching this class on Sept. 29th from 9-3 at the Presbyterian Church. Spin Cycle placemats will be the pattern. SEWING ROOM TOUR: Virginia C. wants to start the sewing room tour again. No decisions were made. RAFFLE QUILT: Janet R. was the very lucky winner of our beautiful raffle quilt. Sally G. asked for volunteers to pick the design and fabric for the next raffle quilt. No response. PROGRAM: We played thread eight needles game-the winning group of 8 ladies won prizes from the prizes basket. NAME TAG DRAWING: Judy O. was the lucky winner.
SHOW AND TELL: Some wonderful quilts were shown.
