Basin Piecemakers Quilt Guild meeting minutes May 27, 2014

Co-President Delores A. opened the meeting asking us to share with the group what color of threat we like to piece with.

Minutes:  From the April 29, 2014 meeting were approved as read.

Correspondence: There was no correspondence.

Treasurers Report: Checking $2,349.84   Savings $1,106.15.  As of this meeting 61 members have paid dues.  A new list of members addresses and phone numbers is available.

Day Meeting:  Great meeting held at Melanie S’s.  Next meeting is at Roylene S’s.

Committees:  Hospitality:  Nancy L. had hip replacement surgery, is home and starting physical therapy. Card was sent to Edna C. – her husband had a stroke and is reportedly improving slowing.  Linda L.’s husband was in a car/train accident and is in Kadlec hospital in the Tri Cities. Brown Bag: 4 passes left.  Artsy: Finished and  will meet for lunch after the quilt show.  Crazy Ladies:  2 or 3 more passes.  QOV:    For the next meeting make an extra block of your choice of a previous block. Nominations:  The committee will present a list slate of officers at the June meeting.

2014 Quilt Show: Mary Ann B. passed around signs up sheets for volunteers for walk-arounds, welcomers, set-up and the boutique.  Prizes are coming along well, posters are being distributed, vendors has only 1 slot left.  Linda W. explained the entry form.  Indicate on the entry form if quit was for crazy ladies, artsy or color challenge so like items can be grouped when hanging. Key Club members may be helping to set up.  Bring quilts between 9 and 1:00PM on Thursday.  Mark items for the boutique with your initials and a price or B.P. and a price for the items being donated to Basin Piecemakers. For those bringing cookies, mark with the name of the cookies and if they have nuts. The next planning meeting will be Thursday, June 5th at 6:30 at the Immanual Lutheran Church.

Program: Belinda Chambers gave a presentation on Project Linus which provides blankets/quilts for children from birth to 18 years old who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. The group meets 2 – 3 times a month to make the quilts.  Supplies, quilt tops and finished quilts are also accepted.  Belinda shared some quilt tops and finished quilts.

Show & Tell: More gorgeous quilts were displayed. 

Refreshments: Delicious refreshments were served by Linda W. and Sally G.

Next meeting:  Immanual Lutheran Church on June 24, 2014.
