The meeting was opened by co-president Maryann asking each member to tell what their greatest  quilting success has been. The minutes from the last meeting were approved as written.  A letter from Nate Butler of Lutherhaven was read.  Judy O gave the treasurer’s report: checking $9830.16 (retreat monies included) savings $1107.22.

Committee Reports: Small group day meeting was held at Barb Petry’s home and 13 quilters were in attendance.  The next meeting will be at Barbara Bolton’s home. Meeting begins at 10 am and ends about 2:00.  Bring your own sack lunch.


Quilt categories for the quilt show are as follows:  small, medium and large, challenge 2015 (parade of homes),2016 ( nine patch) ,pass around quilts (crazy ladies, pieced modern, artsy, brown bag, miscellaneous), retreat mystery.  Dona announced brown bag are still passing, crazy quilters will display at next meeting.  The 9 patch challenge will reveal later this meeting.

Future classes  Merridy reported Michelle Crawford of Flower Box Quilts in Spokane will come Saturday Sept 10th  to teach us how to make her ‘Radiance” quilt.  Sample of the quilt will be shown at the June meeting.  Cost of class is $28 which includes the $8 pattern and is due at sign up.  The class will be held at the Presbyterian Church on Ivy Street .  Dues of $15 are due if you have not yet paid them.  Raffle tickets: Thomasene reported most members have turned their stubs and money in already.  Lynda W has extra tickets.

Quilt Show Planning  Report: “.  Next meeting is June 2nd at 10:00 at the Lutheran Church.  Please contact Maryann or Mary K. if you would like to join a committee and help with the show.  Globes  are needed for the decorations.  Bookmarks are available for you to take and pass out for advertising.  A  “walk though” of the space will be a couple of days before se up.  Please bring doo dahs with your quilts on Thursday the 16th.  Please sign up to help at the entrance table, boutique, canteen, and quilt raffle table.

Wilma is in need of door prizes.  Set up is June 16 and show is on the 17th and 18th.  Dona needs members to help by bringing cookies/chips, salads for the canteen.  Vendors include Quilted  Posey, Rosebud Cottage and Ken and Bonnie Griffin from Yuma.  Karen is in charge of publicity. She is ordering a long banner for $121 that will hang out by theAirway gas station.  Kim Garza volunteered to pick up sandwich boards at the end of the show.   Please sign up to work a shift at the raffle quilt and the front entrance table and the boutique.  Remember June 3rd is the deadline to enter a quilt in our show.


Grant County Fair is coming up in August.  The theme is Cowboy Boots and Country Roots.  We need boots for the decorations for the Quilt Barn.  Let Roylene or Barb B know if you have boots they can use.  Put your name on any boots you bring.  We will be hanging quilts on August 15th.

Program:  The nine patch quilts were revealed and voted on.  First place=Carole Johnson; second place =Wilma Pittman and Third place=Robin Rutty   Congrats to all who participated.

Next meeting will be May 24th.  Pre-dinner will be at Porterhouse.  Refreshments will be served by Barb B and  Roylene.  Program.
